These Are The 7 Books I Read In June 2026

Hey there darlings! I read some very interesting books in June, and I thought it would be wrong of me not to share them with you guys. I read a good mix of fantasy, romance and thrillers, so buckle up and let’s get into it!

When The Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker

I’m going to be honest. I put this book off for a very long time. It just didn’t call to me until last month where I thought okay it’s about time I give this book a go! The first 20% I was a little bored. It took me some time to really get into it, but then once things started making sense, I couldn’t put the book down.

I love Raeve, in some ways she reminded me of Aelin from Throne of Glass. They both have the same resilience, and strength. And they both have that cheeky, honest kind of humour that I loved. At times, there were moments I felt like I could connect with Raeve on an emotional level. Her need to hold everything inside, with the fear of acknowledging and accepting her traumas definitely hit home, and it’s something many of us can relate to.

Kaan Vaegor is husband material. He is THE man of my dreams. I have added him to my book boyfriends list. The yearning from this man was excruciatingly heart-breaking. Get you a man who yearns over 100 years for you!!!!!!!!!!

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

This was not my usual read, buttt it was pretty good! I decided to read it before the prime TV show came out. The tv series was definitely a lil different to the book, but it was honeslty still pretty good, and I cried through out most of it so that should say something.

What I didn’t like from the book, was the big reveal towards the end…SORRY WHATTTT?!😭 I think I would have rated it a little higher if the ending took a different path.

Every few chapters I was tearing up🥲 I also loved the anxiety rep!

The flashback chapters of when Sam and Percy met, how they grew up together, and how their attraction towards each other slowly grew broke my heart😭

Overall it was a good book! Book 2 (One Golden Summer) will be added to the TBR!

Because I Killed Him by Edith Birde

We’ve got a world where society is divided by blood color. You’ve got Greens at the bottom, Oranges in the middle, and Blues living the high life at the top.

Our fmc, Loredana, is a Green. Her dad is a local politician trying to do some actual good by banning Bliss, this highly addictive drug created by the Blues that’s absolutely wrecking the lower-class communities. But of course, as soon as he announces the ban, the anti-ban crowd loses their minds and starts rioting. This puts a massive target on Loredana’s back, which is terrible timing because she’s just about to head off to the prestigious Grandmaster University. Her dad warns her to keep her head down, but the second she leaves, she starts experiencing the brutal reality of the riots firsthand.

Things get crazy on the train ride to campus. Loredana and her friend Charlotte are being targeted by angry rioters, so they run off to find Charlotte’s ex, Jack, for help. That’s when we meet Edmund, a ridiculously gorgeous, powerful Blue high-citizen who basically commands the room.

Once they get to school, Loredana realizes she’s not going to survive the semester on her own. Her only real option? Swallow her pride and join Edmund’s “entourage.” It’s basically a system where low-citizen students trade their independence to become a high-citizen’s shadow in exchange for ultimate protection…for the full review click here.

The Divine Feminine Scent by E.C. Beaumont

We’ve got Selene, who discovers she has a crazy power: her feet have a hypnotic energy that makes people want to worship them. When they do, she literally harvests their life force and stores it up to use as mind-control energy.

Naturally, she uses this to become the ultimate corporate girlboss. Working at an impact investing firm, she manipulates wealthy CEOs into funding massive global projects, like bringing clean water and power to developing countries.

She eventually buys a massive villa and builds a “Protocol Chamber” to harvest her subjects’ energy in style. Enter Ethan, a guy with off-the-charts energy. Selene lies to get him into her chamber, draining his power to help her close some of the biggest investment deals of her career… for the full review click here.

The Divorce by Freida McFadden

If Freida writes it, I’m reading it! I have read most of Freida McFadden’s books, and every single one of them are just such a great time. I bought The Divorce as soon as it came out. it was such a fun, twisty book I enjoyed it the whole way through!

Naomi thought her life was all roses and petals, until her husband kicks her out… Most of the plot we see Naomi try and figure out why all of her sudden her husband is done with her and wants a divorce. But as the truth starts slowly unravelling, twisty things come to light…

World Mythology In Bite-Sized Chunks by Mark Daniels

I found this book in a bookshop in Oxford on a previous trip to the UK. As much as I love romance and fantasy, I have also started reading other types of fiction/non fiction. I’m working on improving my general knowledge!

The World Mythology In Bite Sized Chunks was a great introduction into the world of mythology. It definitely does not go into great detail about each myth (hence “bite-sized”), but for someone looking to dip their foot in the mythology pond, this is a pretty fun and entertaining start!

If you have an interest in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, the Romans and more, this book is for you 🙂

Look Closer by David Ellis

Now this was such a good read! It’s a thriller, murder mystery set on Halloween. We have a mansion. A couple. A secret affair, and the most INSANE plot twist I have read in a while.

I will definitely be reading more of David Ellis’s books!

This is one of those books where I’d rather not tell you much and let you uncover the mysteries for yourself…

I have struggled to find thrillers that really excite me and actually have a shocking plot twist, and this was one of them!

These are my June 2026 reads. Let me know in the comments what books you read in June or if we both read the same ones 🙂
