We need to talk about Ana Huang again. Because apparently selling 27 million books and having Netflix adapt your Twisted Love series wasn’t enough, now her Premier League football romance series, Gods of the Game, is getting a full three-film adaptation over at Amazon MGM Studios. Three. Separate. Films. One for each book in the series.

For Those Who Haven’t Read The Series Yet…
Gods of the Game is Ana Huang’s love letter to English football, the Premier League kind, complete with sold-out stadiums, ridiculous wealth, and athletes with more emotional baggage than they know what to do with. If you haven’t read The Striker or The Defender yet, consider this your sign. The third book, The Keeper, lands in October 2026, and the film deal covers all three.
It’s spicy, it’s dramatic, and it’s exactly the kind of series that was always going to end up on screen.
Who’s Making It Happen?
The production team behind this is Premeditated Productions, Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark, who already have a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios. They’re the same team working on bringing Fourth Wing, Dragon Cursed, and A Stage Set for Villains to life, so they clearly know their way around the romantasy and romance adaptation world. Audible is also involved on the producing side, and Huang herself is executive producing.
The Bigger Picture
What’s wild is the sheer scale of Ana Huang’s screen presence right now. Twisted Love at Netflix. Gods of the Game at Amazon. Two major platforms betting big on the same author at the same time. That doesn’t happen often, and it says everything about where romance fiction stands in 2026.
She’s also got King of Gluttony, the next Kings of Sin book, dropping at the end of April, and then The Keeper in October. The woman does not rest!
What This Means for the Community
Let’s zoom out for a second. Not so long ago, getting a romance novel adapted was a minor miracle. Now we’ve got entire trilogies being greenlit, studios fighting over romantasy IP, and BookTok essentially functioning as Hollywood’s unofficial development pipeline. We’ll be watching this one closely. The moment we hear anything about who’s playing the leading roles, you’ll hear about it here first.
