Attention romantasy readers: one of the biggest bookish events in the genre is crossing the pond, and it’s heading somewhere perfectly magical. Fabled Fantasy Events has officially announced Romantasy BookCon Edinburgh 2027, and it’s taking place in one of the most atmospheric cities in the world.
Honestly, could there be a better backdrop for a romantasy convention than Edinburgh? The cobbled streets, the castle on the hill, the misty mornings, it’s basically a fae court waiting to happen.

When and Where
Romantasy BookCon Edinburgh 2027 will take place on Thursday, July 15, 2027, at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), 150 Morrison Street, Edinburgh EH3 8EE.
It’s a two-day event, and please note it’s 18+ only, so this one is strictly for the grown-up romantasy crowd (which, given the spice levels in some of our favourite reads, feels entirely appropriate).
What to Expect
If you’ve been to a Fabled Fantasy Events convention before, you’ll know the drill. If not, here’s what’s on the cards:
- Exciting panels with authors
- Book signings
- Bookish vendors
- Workshops
- Cosplay
- Straight-out-of-a-fairytale evening events
The organisers have also teased “incredible evening events” that they can’t wait to share.

Calling Authors, Narrators and Vendors
If you’re on the creator side of the romantasy world, applications to be an author, narrator, or vendor open on March 19th at noon ET via the Fabled Fantasy Events website. The first rounds of authors and vendors will be announced before tickets go on sale, so we’ll get a sneak peek at who’s attending before we have to commit.
Should You Go?
If you live anywhere in the UK or Europe and you’ve been eyeing up romantasy conventions in the US with envy, this is your moment. Edinburgh in July is stunning, the venue is central and accessible, and the romantasy community is one of the warmest out there. Get this one in the diary.
We’ll be watching for author announcements and bringing you updates as they drop. In the meantime, start planning your outfits, your book stack, and maybe a few extra days to explore Edinburgh while you’re there.
