The Divine Feminine Scent by E.C. Beaumont | Book Review

The Divine Feminine Scent by E.C Beaumont is a dark romance, paranormal, female dominant energy, unique power, energy harvesting story where one woman discovers the power her feet have on the influence of others…

Meet Selene. She Is Not Here to Be Liked.

Selene is a high-stakes investor. She’s building life-saving infrastructure. She’s brilliant, driven, and operating at a level most people can’t even see. She also seduces powerful men to harvest their energy.

What started as a gift evolved into something more structured, a system she calls the Protocol. Refined through psychology, ritual, technology, and obsession. Selene doesn’t stumble into darkness. She built it, studied it, and honed it into something precise.

She is the predator. The men are the prey. And she is entirely unapologetic about all of it.
Morally grey FMC doesn’t even begin to cover it.

There is no redemption arc here. No softening. No moment where Selene decides to become someone more palatable. She is exactly who she is, from page one to the last line, and it is electrifying to read.

Then Ethan Signs the Protocol.

Ethan is a Silicon Valley millionaire. Successful, powerful, confident, all the things that make him exactly the kind of subject Selene is drawn to. He signs the Protocol. And everything changes.

Because Ethan becomes her most powerful subject yet. Their connection is intoxicating and obsessive and, crucially, irreversible. And as the line between harvest and love starts to blur, slowly, terrifyingly, Selene finds herself somewhere she has never been before.
The stakes become dangerous. Not just professionally. Not just strategically. Personally.

A predator who starts to feel something for her prey is not a predator in control anymore. And watching Selene reckon with that, without flinching, without easy answers, is what makes this book genuinely literary as well as deeply, explicitly dark.

SPICE:

5/5 – Very Spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Okay, so I have never ever read a book like this before. It’s definitely got a very unique plot and storyline.

We have Selene, the fmc, who finds out she has these unknown powers surging from her feet. She learns how powerful her feet are in terms of making people submit and worship them. We see how she grows up, going through high school, and then into university, and how she experiments on people with her feet powers.

Selene’s feet powers involve energy harvesting. By people worshiping her feet, she is able to harness their energy, and then uses this energy to manipulate and convince people to make certain decisions.

Selene works at an impact investing company, where she is able to convince companies/CEO’s to invest in serious, life changing projects, such as providing electricity and drinking water to poorer countries. This becomes her mission, and she uses the energy she harvests to manipulate investors into working with her (which is pretty darn clever tbh)

Selene then buy herself a villa and builds a Protocol Chamber, which is essential a room for her and her subjects to harvest energy from them in a more comfortable setting. Eventually, we meet Ethan who Selene lies to so she can use him as her subject because she senses how powerful he is (the more powerful the person, the more energy she can harvest). Then she uses the energy she harvests from him at her investment job where she helps close a good amount of investment deals!

Selene learns how much more energy she can take from a man who is aroused, and uses certain techniques/machines to make the most of this phenomenon! Just to be aware, this book has A LOT of sexual related scenes involving edging, machines that function to pleasure men, etc…

Selene’s character is very unique. Through out the book we see her sort of fighting with the ethical side of what she’s doing. Her reasoning being it’s one guy who suffers for then millions of people to live better lives… I mean I see where she’s coming from… but girllll.

I really enjoyed the ending of the book. I loved that Priya (her colleague/friend) fully called her out on the last harvesting session with Ethan because of how morally wrong it was! I genuinely thought something horrific was going to happen to him, so thank you so much to the author for not killing him off because I actually loved him, he was super sweet! And I love that Selene and Ethan end up together. When Selene talks about how his energy just feels right it made me think hmm cause this be a fated mates situation…?

And then Sophie having her baby omg I was so happy for her!!!

But overall, I really enjoyed this book! Super unique, and entertaining 🙂

My Rating: 4/5 ⭐
